WATCH: Marjorie Taylor Greene Denies Hoping Election Would Not Be Certified

Marjorie Taylor Greene spent the weeks between the election in November of 2020 and the electoral vote certification in January of 2021 railing against the outcome, insisting that the election was “stolen,” and encouraging actions to change the outcome, ranging from protests and rallies to more procedural efforts like recounts and audits. Despite this, she denies hoping that Joe Biden’s win would not be certified and formalized.

After Donald Trump lost his bid for re-election, Greene was among those in the MAGA camp who insisted the election had been stolen and could not be certified with Joe Biden as winner. In Friday’s hearing, she was asked about numerous specific statements. She denied some and claimed not to remember others. However, when asked about her feelings about the election confirmation, she denied that her “personal opinion and…wish” had been for the election not to be certified.

Unfortunately for her, as with other things that she denied saying or tweeting, the evidence is already out there. Here’s one clip of Greene telling followers that they could not allow a peaceful transfer of power, and must not allow Biden to become President of the United States.

Greene also insisted in her testimony that she’s always called for peace, but the plaintiffs’ attorney countered that with another video clip in which, as you can see in a copy of it below, Greene told fans that they could change things (in this case about building a border wall) peacefully, but hinted that if that failed, less peaceful methods — “the other way” might be on the table.

Confronted with the evidence, Greene complained that CNN was being used as a source, and argued that the network has lied about her before, though she did not again deny the specific statements.
