WATCH: Madison Cawthorn Says Biden Wants to Go Door to Door to Take Away Bibles and Guns

COVID-19 was never supposed to be a political issue. 600,000 people have died and they’ve been from all political persuasions and from all walks of life. Donald Trump could have shown leadership and combated the virus. Instead he chose to make it a culture war thing.

And Trump might now be out of office, but Republican lawmakers are still furiously pushing COVID disinformation. They are especially obsessed with Joe Biden’s idea to go door to door to educate Americans on vaccines. According to Madison Cawthorn, though, it is actually a ploy to take away guns and bibles.

The North Carolina Rep. said during the CPAC event, “And now they’re starting to talk about going door to do to be able to be able to take vaccines to the people. The thing about the mechanisms they would have to be able to build to execute that massive of a thing. And then think about what those mechanisms can be used for. They can then go door to door and take your guns. They can go door to door and take your bibles.”

Multiple GOP lawmakers have been using these kind of scare tactics to encourage their followers against getting vaccinated. Jen Psaki blasted this messaging from her lectern on Friday, saying, “Let me first say that the failure to provide accurate public health information, including the efficacy of vaccines, and the accessibility of them, to people across the country, including South Carolina, is literally killing people. Maybe they should consider that.”
