[WATCH] Liz Cheney Calls Trump ‘Dangerous and Irrational’ During Speech at Reagan Library

How do you solve a problem like Liz Cheney?

On the one hand, she’s her father’s Republican daughter, voting with her party nearly 95% of the time, including on abortion rights (ew, Liz). But on the other hand, she’s the Vice-Chair of the bipartisan January 6th House Select Committee and has no problem holding her more MAGA-ish colleagues accountable for their continued loyalty to a man she called “dangerous and irrational” during a scorching speech at the Reagan Library on Wednesday night.

Cheney landed plenty of great lines about Trump and his remaining loyalists. “It is undeniable — the Republican Party cannot be both loyal to Donald Trump and loyal to the Constitution. We must choose,” Cheney told the crowd. “We must not elect people who are more loyal to power or to themselves than they are to our Constitution,” Cheney went on to say.

“We are confronting a domestic threat that we have never faced before — and that is a former President who is attempting to unravel the foundations of our constitutional Republic,” said Cheney. “And he is aided by Republican leaders and elected officials who have made themselves willing hostages to this dangerous and irrational man.”

Cheney also addressed any young women who might be watching and quipped that “men running the world” is “really not going that well.”

True dat, Liz, but you’re also not helping those young women by not voting for their bodily autonomy. In fact, it makes it seem like you’re helping those men, just saying. Anyway, here’s her speech.
