Four years ago, Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson was serving as a judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. In September of 2018, when Brett Kavanaugh was a nominee to the Supreme Court, she was not a part of the hearings. Being a District Judge and not a United States Senator, she did not take part in questioning Kavanaugh. In fact, she says she didn’t even watch the hearings.
Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) still wants her to answer for it.
Watch as he demands that she give him answers about how she’d feel if she was “ambushed” with an accusation of crime or misconduct near the end of her hearing. Pressing, he insists she respond, even though he’s warned that he’s gone over his time limit.
Sen. Lindsey Graham: "Did you watch the Kavanaugh hearings? […] He was ambushed. How would you feel if we did that to you?"

“He was ambushed, literally ambushed! How would you feel if we did that to you?” Graham demands.
Jackson begins with a measured and polite response, saying, “Senator, I have appreciated the kindness each of you has shown me, to see me in your offices and talk with me about my approach — ”
Graham, however, can’t allow her to finish, interrupting, “But, but my question is, what if, during our 15 minute exchange, it was very pleasant, you’re a very nice person, you have a lot to be proud of. I would never do that to you!”
It sounds very much like his previous questioning, in which he asked her similar questions about Amy Coney Barrett’s hearings, despite Judge Jackson also not being any part of those proceedings.
