WATCH: Lindsey Graham Says Trump “Did Nothing Wrong in his Mind”
For viewers of the 2016 Republican primaries, Lindsey Graham’s turnabout on Donald Trump has been shocking. In May of 2016, the South Carolina senator predicted Trump would destroy the Republican party. In 2020, though, Graham has become one of the President’s most ardent supporters.

And Graham, who was once seen as a moderating voice in the Senate, will take every opportunity to absolve Trump. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, the South Carolina lawmaker said that Trump, “did nothing wrong in his mind.”
There was a tizzy on Wednesday when Donald Trump took the stage at Davos and admitted to withholding files from Democrats. This was seen by some as an admission to obstruction of justice.
In an incredible exchange at Davos, @realdonaldtrump admits he is comfortable with the status of the impeachment trial because the White House is withholding evidence. "Honestly, we have all the material. They don't have the material." As always, he says the quiet part out loud. pic.twitter.com/Gk3h1QZyAi

Graham was asked about Trump’s comments today by reporters. “If thought he was doing something wrong, he would probably shut up about it,” he said.
The South Carolina senator then defended Trump, “All I can tell you is from the president’s point of view, he did nothing wrong in his mind.”
This has been an odd day for Graham. During today’s hearings, New York Congressman played a clip of Graham’s comments from Bill Clinton’s impeachment hearings back in the late 1990’s.
This thought of this moment when Nadler shows this clip to take down @LindseyGrahamSC on the official impeachment record is pretty much what has kept me going for the last three years. pic.twitter.com/3oxnePEdJn
