WATCH: Lindsey Graham Refers to Loan Forgiveness For Minority Farmers as Reparations

This weekend, Democrats were able to pass Joe Biden’s stimulus package. This is great news for millions of Americans. Once the bill passes in the house, many will get stimulus checks. In addition, there will be expanded unemployment benefits and money going directly to states.

Republican lawmakers, though, are apoplectic. Despite the popularity of the bill among Conservatives, not one GOP senator was willing to vote for the bill. Instead, they are appearing on TV and attacking it. During a Sunday appearance on Maria Bartiromo’s show, Lindsey Graham took particular issue with a portion of the bill concerning disadvantaged farmers.

Graham whined to the Fox host, “Let me give you an example of something that really bothers me. In this bill, if you’re a farmer, your loan will be forgiven — up to 120%, not 100%, but 120% of your loan — if you’re socially disadvantaged. If you’re African-American, some other minority.”

The South Carolina senator continued, “But if you’re a white person, if you’re a white woman, no forgiveness! That’s reparations! What has that got to do with COVID? So if you’re in the farming business right now, this bill forgives 120% of your loan based on your race!”
