WATCH: Legal AF Takes On Stephen Miller’s Family Cell Plan Excuse To January 6th Committee

Stephen Miller continues charade about Trump election

Stephen Miller, once a trusted advisor to then-President Donald Trump, is now trying to evade the January 6th Committee — and he’s hiding behind his mother to do it. Miller is hardly the first of Trump’s associates to find excuses to try to dodge a subpoena in the investigation. He’s just the first to say that he can’t be investigated because he’s on his mother’s phone plan.

Miller says, in a lawsuit filed against the January 6th Committee, that his phones aren’t subject to a search, since he and his siblings are on their mother’s phone plan. The Legal AF podcast from MeidasTouch took time out to address this on their latest episode, and they make it clear that the entire premise is utterly laughable — literally.

The segment in question runs from the 35:39 mark to about 43 and a half minutes. The video below has the full episode, but should start at the beginning of the Stephen Miller discussion.

As attorneys Ben Ben Meiselas and Michael Popok share, Miller’s argument is that he’s on his family’s phone plan, and some of the other phone lines on that plan belong to attorneys who use their phone for privileged discussion with clients, as well as that he himself has used his line to talk about family matters and share photos of his infant.

Perhaps the most interesting thing in the filing, however, is that Miller, unlike most former and current members of Team Trump, isn’t trying to argue that the events of January 6th were in any way acceptable, or that they should be excused — he’s just arguing that the investigation shouldn’t touch him.

That’s not likely to sit well with Trump’s loyalty obsession.

Ultimately, the attorneys conclude that the argument isn’t likely to protect Miller, but it’s the utter desperation in trying to use his mother as a shield that’s mind-blowing.
