While it is not the likeliest scenario, there is a chance that Donald Trump could be in prison at the start of the Republican National Convention. And for that reason, the person who runs the RNC, now Trump's daughter-in-law Lara, has to be prepared if that was to be the case.
Lara Trump appeared on Real America's Voice on Wednesday and was asked what would happen if the Republican candidate were to be jailed.
"Here's the bottom line," she responded. "It doesn't matter whether Donald Trump is in Trump Tower, Mar-a-Lago, or anywhere else they may try to put him."
Continuing to portray the now-convicted felon as a victim, Lara Trump continued:
"On the day that we, as the Republican Party, will be nominating him as our official candidate and our official nominee for president, he will accept that no matter where he is. He will go on to be our candidate all the way to November 5th, when he then is reelected as our 47th president."

The head of the RNC then tried to spin Trump's legal issues as a net gain, saying, "I think everybody can only see it's been a positive for him. People in this country see what's going on with this. They see how third-world and communist it is, and they do not want to see this as the future of America."
