WATCH: Kyle Rittenhouse Says He May Never Be Able To Get A Job “Because Of What The Media Did”

Kyle Rittenhouse and his representatives have talked about the potential for defamation cases since before his trial. Now, he says he wants to “make the media pay.”

Rittenhouse has suggested that he’s been misrepresented in the media, where there was speculation about his motivation and discussion of the legality of his actions, including the ownership of the weapon he used in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He was a major topic of conversation as the entire country debated whether he was a villain or a hero, whether he went to a Black Lives Matter protest out of good intentions or blatant racist ones, and what actions he took before firing at multiple others at the protest.

Kyle was acquitted on all charges, including both homicide charges, the reckless endangerment charges, the attempted homicide charge. The charge for illegally possessing the AS-15 rifle he carried to the protest was dismissed.

Armed with the court’s ‘not guilty’ finding, and emboldened, as he says, by Johnny Depp’s recent win in a defamation case, Rittenhouse now says he’s ready to take on the media.

“We’re going to make the media pay for what they did to me. They made it hard for me to live a normal life. I can’t go out into public. I can’t go to the store…they made it really difficult to be normal. They affected future job opportunities to me. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to work, or get a job, because I’m afraid an employer may not hire me.”

Rittenhouse does not say whether he has actually applied for jobs and been turned down due to the publicity around his actions. However, according to the Seattle Times, a recruiter stated that he had already been disqualified for military service months before the shooting took place. It’s not clear whether that was for reasons that would affect other employment options.
