During an appearance on Fox News last night, Kellyanne Conway urged her former boss to accept another debate against Kamala Harris.
The current race between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris is close, but the momentum is clearly on the Democrat's side. Tim Walz and J.D. Vance will debate on Tuesday, representing perhaps the GOP's last chance to capture more votes.
Donald Trump could change that. Kamala Harris and her team are challenging the Republican candidate to another debate. After Trump lost the first one and had a bit of a meltdown, he doesn't seem to have interest in another. But Conway thinks it presents an opportunity for him.
The long-time GOP strategist told Jesse Watters on Monday night, "I asked President Trump today, we interviewed for an hour and I said to him: ‘The guy I know, you, is not going to be able to sit down after a 90-minute VP debate and let that be the last word in presidential debates. You’re going to say, when is our next one?’ And I hope he does that."
The host countered by asking, "You think there’s going to be another debate with Harris?”
Conway closed:
"He had said no, but he didn’t say totally no; that October 23rd one was seen as too late. But why not get back in there? Trump’s like, I told him, you’re like Shohei Ohtani, your pitching, your batting. You’ve done seven of them. She’s one for one – big deal."
