On her first day as Donald Trump’s press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany promised the press corps that she would never lie to them. She, of course, broke this promise over and over again during her White House tenure. And just because McEnany no longer works for Donald Trump, it doesn’t mean she’s done lying to America. She now does so as a contributor on Fox News. And during a Thursday appearance she deceived viewers about the child tax credit.
McEnany told the audience, “Child Tax Credit, yet another reason to not go back to work. There’s a place for welfare in this country, but excessive welfare without work requirements is where we get into really dangerous territory.”

Most people were already eligible for the child tax credit and would get the lump sum during tax season. Biden’s plan allows for people to get the money monthly instead. There are some small changes that are aimed at benefiting lower income Americans.
The plan will certainly be a major benefit to Fox viewers. And he personalities on the network are worried that this will make people turn against Republicans who vote against the plan.
Fox Business’ Stuart Varney said on Wednesday, “Some people, low-income people, will actually have their income doubled with this. That’s going to make it very popular. They’re going to vote for the people who give them that money. It’s going to be awfully difficult for the Republicans to turn around and say, wait a minute, wait a minute, we can’t afford this.”
