Following yesterday’s Electoral College vote, more and more Republicans are willing to come out and say that Joe Biden has been elected. Even long term holdout Mitch McConnell broke. On Tuesday morning, the Senate Majority Leader extended his congratulations to Biden and Kamala Harris.

When asked if Trump considered Biden president-elect, McEnany responded, “The president is still involved in ongoing litigation related to the election. Yesterday’s [Electoral College] vote was one step in the constitutional process so I will leave that to him and refer you to the campaign for more on that litigation.”
Another reporter then asked, “Does the president oppose the Senate taking up Joe Biden’s nominees before the inauguration?”
McEnany responded by calling the question hypothetical. She continued, “He won’t get ahead of that activity happening but he has taken all statutory requirements necessary to either ensure a smooth transition or continuation of power.”
