WATCH: Kamala Harris Connects With Voters Through Food

Vice President Kamala Harris is a self-avowed foodie who loves to cook.

Whether she's whipping up bacon and eggs for her nieces or sharing the secret to a perfect roast chicken, the VP expresses her love for family and friends through food.

While campaigning, Vice President Harris has stopped at plenty of small businesses where food is front and center. A moment at Dottie's in Savannah, GA, went viral thanks to the words "Chocolate Caramel Cake."

In another viral moment from a visit to a Pencey's Spice Shop in Pittsburgh this week, Vice President Harris embraces an emotional woman and reassures her "We're gonna be okay. We're gonna be fine."

Then there's the whole Doritos moment. Kamala Harris doesn't share her Doritos with her husband, Doug Emhoff, and she's earned that right.

Even more relatable, VP Harris worked at McDonald's when she was in high school. Fast-food and service jobs are the most common first jobs for most high school students and other young people.

Her duties were making french fries and working the cash register, she said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” earlier this year.

At a Sheetz convenience store in Moon Township during their campaign bus tour of southwestern Pennsylvania in August, she revealed the sodas of choice in the Harris/Emhoff household. “I like root beer. He likes Diet Coke,” she said, referring to her husband.

In honor of the VP's love of cooking, celebrity chefs and other famous foodies held a recent "Cooking For Kamala" Zoom call, which raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Harris/Walz campaign.
