Mike Pence and Donald Trump were put together for a reason. Pence helped to shore up Trump’s Evangelical support. And through Trump, Pence received political power. And for that power, the former Vice President was willing to go along with pretty much anything Trump did or said. But Pence never received the same loyalty he showed to his former boss. This week, Trump again attacked his former running mate, saying he could have overturned the election. This led to Pence responding to the claims in what Jon Karl called, an extraordinary moment.
The ABC reporter told Nicolle Wallace, “Just finally coming out and saying it — ‘Donald Trump is wrong’ — from the loyal vice president, the most loyal person to Donald Trump in that entire administration until the day of Jan. 6, it’s an extraordinary moment.”
“I think one big question hanging over all of this is, does Pence himself end up cooperating with this committee? I actually doubt it. I don’t think it’s going to come to the point where we actually see Pence himself testify. Maybe after you’ve seen his words today, maybe they don’t need his testimony. I mean it’s clear what his position is, and it’s clear the pressure he was under by Donald Trump.”See Also
