Joe Biden did not walk into the easiest situation when he became president. COVID was rampaging the country. Donald Trump has made a deal with the Taliban that Biden decided to stick to. And thanks to Trump, the country is now more divided than any time in recent history.

Biden has done the best he could with a terrible situation. Those who want vaccines have had easy access to them, while many have chosen to get sick or die instead. The Afghanistan withdrawal was difficult but had now ended. So things have at times looked bleak, but according to John Oliver, it could be much worse.
Oliver told viewers, “If they had gone the other way, [Donald] Trump would still be president right now. Meaning COVID would be even worse, we’d be at war with, I don’t know, let’s say Luxembourg, and we’d all be living under attorney general MyPillow guy.”
The HBO host continued, “I know things are bleak right now, but depressingly, it’s also important to remember: This is technically the better timeline.”
