WATCH: Joe Scarborough Says Day 1 of DNC Showed GOP What 'They Fear the Most'

After a raucous and celebratory first night of the Democratic National Convention, Joe Scarborough said that Republicans saw what they fear the most.

It was just the first night of the DNC, but the crowd was huge, loud, and overjoyed as they heard from some of the party's best talent. While breaking down day one, Scarborough noted the differences between the directions of the two parties.

"I mean you look at a convention like that, you can't calculate it," Scarborough began. "You have in two Republican candidates, two guys who at least publicly, in their public persona, project misery; they're not happy. They're always looking for retribution, they're looking for people to blame, they're looking for a reason to be upset. They're looking for a reason, you know, to resent."

The Morning Joe host continued, "You look at the Democratic National Convention and, I swear, I never thought I would see it in my lifetime. As a Republican, I thought it is just too easy to beat Democrats because they're afraid to have a good time, they're afraid to be joyful, they're afraid to wave the flag. I will tell you, what Republicans feared the most last night was the joy but also the chants of 'USA, USA, USA."

Scarborough closed, "This is a great country, so now the Democratic Party can cheer 'USA, USA, USA,' and it is a hell of a contrast with the presidential candidate on the Republican side that talks down about America every day on the stump."
