WATCH: Joe Scarborough has a simple question for Trump supporters

Republicans were able to get Donald Trump into the White House in 2016, but that move has been costly. No politician has ever inspired resistance quite like the former President. This is seen every year when the GOP loses political races that they thought they had in their back pocket.

On Wednesday's broadcast of Morning Joe, the panel discussed all the losing the Republicans have done since hitching their wagon to Trump. And the host questioned why the party would continue to do so.

"I still can't figure out, listening to you talk about the Republican Party being different," Scarbourgh began. "I still can't figure out, even though we talk about it all the time, but I talk about it all the time because I can't figure it out. It used to be if you were a Republican and you lost, 'Hope you had a good ride, there's the door, get out, we have to move forward without you."

The host continued, "It is just beyond me how they embrace a seven-time loser, and they embrace a seven-time loser who, again, I know we have polls showing right now that he is doing well. Lots of luck when people start focusing on this race, lots of luck. I still -- that is a great mystery to me, too. How could a party continue to embrace a guy that loses and makes them lose?
