During his Tuesday broadcast, Morning Joe host Joe Scarborough opined that Donald Trump's unstable behavior is the true October surprise.
During election season, there is always a worry about the October surprise—the late-breaking news that turns the race on its head. Some wondered whether General John Kelly going on the record about just how awful Donald Trump is could be that moment.
The Morning Joe Panel was discussing the news and the host strongly argued that Donald Trump's actions in general is what could move the election. He began:
"Some pathetic people that are trying to cozy up to Donald Trump, who are trying to blame Jeffrey Goldberg, trying to blame General [John] Kelly for a, quote, 'October surprise' that they're making up. Of course. Imagine that: people actually questioning the integrity of those two. Questioning the integrity of General Kelly."
"But, no, those aren't the October surprises," he continued. "The October surprises are what Donald Trump says and what he has said every time he has opened his mouth. The October surprise is that Donald Trump has said he is going to arrest his Democratic opponents. The October surprise is that Donald Trump has said he is going to use the army and is going to use the national guard against his political opponents –– that's the October surprise."
