For nearly her entire campaign, Vice President Kamala Harris has faced criticism from MAGA over her interviews, claiming she would only speak with "friendly" media outlets. After the Vice President appeared on Fox News, they raised the bar and challenged her to sit down with podcaster Joe Rogan.
Those calls only got louder once Donald Trump sat down with Rogan for three hours, leaving MAGA supporters waiting for him in the cold in Michigan for nearly twice as long. The public conversation made it seem that the Harris campaign was ignoring Rogan's invitation, but it turns out that wasn't the case.
The Harris campaign made it clear to Rogan that the Vice President's packed schedule simply wouldn't allow for her to travel to his comedy club/studio in Austin, Texas. They offered Rogan an hour of the VP's time, but he would have to travel to where she was.
“The Harris campaign has not passed on doing the podcast,” Rogan said in a post on Twitter. He only wanted it to take place at his Austin studio, saying his “sincere wish” is to “get to know her as a human being.”
Why Rogan couldn't leave his safe studio space when Alex Cooper recreated the entire Call Her Daddy set in a hotel on the campaign trail remains a mystery.
While right-wing media tried to spin the story to make it seem as though Kamala Harris "couldn't handle" such an interview, the Vice President still managed to do four others in the hours before her speech from the Ellipse on Tuesday.
