WATCH: Jesse Watters Blames Backlash Over Sexualized Harris Comments on People Misconstruing His Language

During Tuesday's episode of The Five, Jesse Watters gave a non-apology over-sexualized comments he made about Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Watters is on television because he is offensive and awful, and Fox knows that he appeals to its viewers. So the pundit faced no repercussions for his actions except apparently being told to apologize before Wednesday's show. But it was no surprise that the host blamed others for how they reacted to his comments.

The Fox host told the audience:

"There’s been some attention to comments I made on the show yesterday about V.P. Harris. People are misconstruing my comments to mean something inappropriate. I wasn’t suggesting anything of a sexual nature. I was expressing my opinion that V.P. Harris’s current leadership style could be an issue if elected."

Of course, the initial comments would have been difficult to misconstrue as they were not at all subtle. Watters had remarked

"We don’t know who she is. We don’t know what she believes. She’s going to get paralyzed in the Situation Room while the generals have their way with her."

Immediately after the host made those comments, he was rebuked by two Conservative female panellists, Jeanine Pirro and Dana Perino. Pirro immediately demanded that he take the comments back. So according to Watters, she probably owes him an apology for misconstruing what he said.
