There have been several reports on plots within Donald Trump’s administration and social circles to subvert the 2020 election, and overturn the outcome after Trump lost. However, the January 6th Committee is now confirming not only that they’re investigating a memo that laid out plans to seize voting machines and use the military to overturn the election — but also that they’ve specifically questioned former Attorney General Bill Barr about his role, and are investigating whether there was any military cooperation on board for the plan.
In the Face the Nation clips below, Representative Bennie Thompson (D-MN) shares more of what the Committee knows about the plot, and what they’re still trying to find out. This includes the revelation that Barr has already been questioned about the plot, and that some unspecified individuals within the Department of Defense have been questioned about the same.

“To be honest with you, we’ve had conversations with the former attorney general already. We have talked to Department of Defense individuals. We are concerned that our military was part of this Big Lie…”
While the notion that Trump and those around him had serious plans to engage military force to carry out a coup, ot that the DOD would have participated, is often scoffed at, documents the Committee is reviewing seem to confirm that it was very much in discussion.
Here's Michael Flynn on Newsmax saying that Trump could order "military capabilities" to swing states and "rerun an election in each of those states."

As seen above, people in Trump’s circle (in this case Michael Flynn) even spoke of it openly between the election and the attempted insurrection, saying clearly that they believed the then-president could use military force in the form of martial law to seize voting machines, throw out certified vote tallies, and force a redo of the election process.
