Will Mike Pence, the former Vice President of the United States, testify in upcoming public hearings regarding the January 6th, 2021, attack on the Capitol? Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD) won’t get into the specific witness list, but makes it very clear that Pence’s perspective, as his life was threatened that day, is of utmost importance.

Just days ahead of the first public hearing in the January 6th investigation, Raskin spoke with the Washington Post in a live interview, viewable here on CSPAN, to discuss the content and aim of these hearings.
He affirmed that he believes there is evidence of a conspiracy, and that the violence that arose that day was not spontaneous — saying, “The committee has found evidence of concerted planning and premeditated activity,” and that the notion of “a demonstration that got a little out of control” is “absurd.”
When asked about the possibility of calling Pence to testify, Raskin refused to get into a specific witness list.
Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) won't say whether the January 6th committee plans to call former Vice President Mike Pence to testify:
"Vice President Pence was obviously the object of this political onslaught on January 6th, so we need to fill in the details as much as possible …" pic.twitter.com/vQRtPQgcpQ

He would not even confirm the testimony of some of Pence’s closest advisors, his chief of staff, Marc Short, or his lead counsel, Greg Jacob, who are presumed witnesses in the first live hearing, along with former federal Judge J. Michael Luttig, who advised Pence ahead of the events of January 6th.
Still, he affirmed, “Vice President Pence was the subject of this political onslaught,” and lauded the former VP for doing the right thing.
Asked whether the committee has found sufficient evidence to prove that Pence’s life was in serious danger that day, Raskins replied, “Watch the hearings. The hearings will tell the story.”
Again, the full half-hour interview can be found here, and the first public hearing is at 8pm on Thursday evening.
