Though the former President of the United States was impeached over his efforts to withhold defense aid from Ukraine to force the nation to dig up dirt on his political opponent. Now, he claims that if he’d stayed in office, Vladimir Putin would never have dared to carry out the invasion. Meanwhile, Ivanka Trump is making sure the world knows she took part in donating meals to aid workers.

Ivanka Trump posted a video to her Instagram account Sunday night, in which she makes a strained-sounding statement about how she’s worked with several organizations over the last few days to donate meals to Ukraine.

Ivanka has not been a very public presence since the attack on the Capitol by her father’s supporters over a year ago, when there were rumors she was angry about what the event had done to her political reputation.

According to WFLA, Ivanka was actually the driving force behind the effort, reaching out to aid groups to do the packaging and delivery, but funding it herself to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars.

While the Trumps have gotten in trouble for misrepresenting their charitable contributions before, there’s no question that a million meals are appreciated in Ukraine right now, and that stepping up is a good thing.

Still, those closest to the family remain skeptical about Ivanka’s motives — see for example, Stephanie Winston WOlkoff, who tweeted to point out that if the point was helping, rather than getting attention for helping, Trump wouldn’t have needed to notify news networks and then follow up with an Instagram video.

“Good deeds are done with INTENTION, not for ATTENTION!” she declared.
