[WATCH] Ivana Trump Thinks Ivanka Will Be “First Female President” Someday
Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife and mother to his older sons, Don Jr and Eric, and daughter, Ivanka, appeared on a British talk show and claimed that her daughter would be the first female US President “in about fifteen years”. In a Monday interview on the British talk show “Loose Women”, Ivana said that while Ivanka would never be interested in being First Lady, “First Mother could work”.
Ivana and Donald Trump married in 1977 before battling each other in a high-profile 1991 divorce. She has since indicated that they are now on friendly terms.
“I think she could be one day the first girl, or woman, president. Definitely,” Ivana told the show’s hosts.
Ivanka Trump wasn’t elected to her current position as White House Senior Advisor, and it’s often been unclear as to what her exact role is in her father’s administration. Her husband, Jared Kushner, has had a dubious tenure amid myriad scandals, including his interview today where he claimed he had his own set of tapes to dispute Bob Woodward’s.
“She’s in the White House every day. She’s next to her father every day, she knows what all is going around,” the 71-year-old Ivanka gushed of her daughter.
Ivana’s comments come on the heels of her ex-husband’s own suggestion that their daughter has a future in politics. Trump’s relationship with Ivanka has often come under scrutiny, including in a new video by Meidas Touch highlighting the more inappropriate moments in their relationship.
Donald Trump floated his daughter’s name as a future presidential pick at a reelection campaign rally last month, after knocking Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Kamala Harris, who is much better positioned to be the first female President.
“They’re all saying ‘we want Ivanka,'” Trump said to the crowd in New Hampshire. “I don’t blame them.”
