WATCH: In New Ad MAGA GOP Candidate JD Vance Asks, “Do You Hate Mexicans?”

JD Vance has an incredible backstory. He grew up poor in rural West Virginia, served in the United States Marine Corps, then graduated from Yale Law School. Soon after, he wrote Hillbilly Elegy, which became a New York Times bestseller and a feature film.

SUN VALLEY, ID – JULY 12: JD Vance, venture capitalist and author of ‘Hillbilly Elegy,’ attends the second day of the annual Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference, July 12, 2017 in Sun Valley, Idaho. Every July, some of the world’s most wealthy and powerful businesspeople from the media, finance, technology and political spheres converge at the Sun Valley Resort for the exclusive weeklong conference. When Donald Trump burst onto the scene, Vance was not a fan. “I’m a Never Trump guy,” he told Charlie Rose in 2016. “I never liked him.” That opinion has changed dramatically as the author is now fully Trumpian. In a recent campaign ad released to his Twitter feed, Vance asked, “do you hate Mexicans?”

The spot began with the GOP senate hopeful asking, “Are you a racist. Do you hate Mexicans?”

He continued:

“The media calls us racist for wanting to build Trump’s wall. They censor us, but it doesn’t change the truth. Joe Biden’s opened border is killing Ohioans with more illegal drugs and more Democrat voters pouring into this country. This issue is personal. I nearly lost my mother to the poison coming across our border. No child should grow up an orphan.”

The ad closed with Vance stating, “Whatever they call us, we will put America first.”
