WATCH: Hillary Clinton Throws Shade at Melania Trump’s Be Best Initiative
During her long political career, Hillary Clinton was seen as someone who kept her opinions close to the vest. Following her loss in 2016, though, she has opened up quite a bit. She made waves late last year when she ripped into former primary opponent Bernie Sanders.
The former Secretary of State continued her media tour last night by appearing on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live. Clinton spoke with host Andy Cohen not only about the current political climate in Washington, but also First Lady Melania Trump.
Cohen began the interview by asking about the Trump’s and more specifically Melania. When asked about the First Lady’s Be Best initiative, Clinton responded, “I think she should look closer to home.”
The host followed up by asking about the Trump’s allegedly rocky marriage. The 2016 Democratic candidate answered, “’I’m the last person to comment on anybody’s relationship.”
Clinton also weighed in on the famous moment where Nancy Pelosi ripped up Donald Trump’s State of the Union address. She told Cohen:
“I thought she was making a very strong point in demonstrating that so much of what he said was untethered from reality and just plain factually wrong,” she said. “Sometimes it’s the only way to get attention because otherwise his speech, which was filled with so many errors, would have been taken at face value. Because she visibly did that, which then went viral across the internet, people said, wait a minute, maybe we better take another look. I thought it was an interesting and effective gesture.”
