WATCH: Harris/Walz Campaign Hits $1B In Donations

Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz have set a record after officially raising $1B during their abbreviated campaign for the White House, it was reported on Wednesday.

That figure includes money raised by the Harris/Walz campaign committee itself, as well as a campaign-affiliated joint fundraising committee that also collects cash for the Democratic National Committee and state parties.

The Harris/Walz campaign raised over $300 million in August alone. Conversely, the Trump/Vance campaign--which Trump began as a solo candidate over two years ago in his attempts to stave off legal consequences--has barely over $300 million in their coffers.

Early fundraising totals showed the enthusiasm for the Vice President, with skeptics predicting her early buzz would fade. Instead, the addition of Gov. Walz as her running brought in another new wave of energy and donations, shattering records week by week.

The Biden/Harris campaign in 2020 also raised just over $1b, but they had a more extended campaign and a last-minute mega-donor boost to get them there. The Harris/Walz is now averaging nearly half a billion dollars every month.

Bigger and bigger endorsements kept coming in, and with them more donations. Republicans are setting aside their political differences to put country over the party to endorse the Vice President, and big-money donors are following.

The Harris/Walz campaign is so flush with cash that it's been able to kick down an additional $25 million to Democratic down-ballot races in all 50 states.

The campaign is spending its money well, most obviously on ads targeting Trump.
