[WATCH] Graham Says GOP Will Impeach Kamala Harris If They Win in 2022

TrumpSenator Lindsey Graham (R-Hell) has been making the TV news rounds to gloat about the Republicans choosing to acquit Donald Trump at his historic second impeachment trial. In an interview that could be described as “bonkers”, Graham did all he could to paint the Democrats in the worst light possible despite just having failed to convict Trump for inciting the deadly January 6th insurrection at the Capitol. Republicans are of course proclaiming a victory when the vote showed Trump’s clear guilt, but simply fell ten votes short of the 67 needed to seal the conviction.

But Republicans will take anything and run with it to use as a smokescreen to distract from their party’s continued implosion. Even as 20 of the 43 Republicans who voted Not Guilty now face a serious challenge in keeping their seats in the 2022 midterm election, Graham continues to give Democrats more free content to use in their potential political ads.

Graham said on Sunday that the Democrats “set such a bad precedent” with the second impeachment that if House Republicans retake the majority, they will go after Vice President Kamala Harris and impeach her for her support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Pushing a false GOP narrative, Graham claimed the Vice President personally bailed out protestors. While then-candidate Harris tweeted support of the Minnesota Freedom Fund in June, there is no evidence that she ever bailed anyone out.

While Graham dangled the idea of impeachment for Harris because of her tweet, he insisted that Trump bore no responsibility for his actions on Jan. 6 that led a mob to storm the U.S. Capitol to stop the certification of President Joe Biden’s election victory.

“He bears the responsibility of pushing narratives about the election that I think are not sound and not true, but this was politically protected speech,” he stated. “The speech on Jan. 6 was not an incitement to violence.”

Graham also dismissed all evidence that shows Trump refused to act as the riot raged on, even though the former president spoke to several Republican lawmakers and was well aware of the danger they faced and the threat to Vice President Mike Pence’s life.

“It doesn’t tell me a whole lot, because it’s all hearsay,” Graham shrugged. “Could the president have done more? Yeah. Did he incite this riot by his speech? Absolutely not.”

Graham is just spinning his wheels in the wake of the announcement from Fulton County, Georgia District Attorney Fani Willis that she’ll be investigating him as well as Donald Trump for their interference in the Georgia Senate runoff elections.
