Primaries are coming up. It’s time, now, for candidates to find a way to stand out from the crowd and get the attention of the voters. This could be done the hard way — by having good policies that reflect the will of the voters and will potentially make the country better for one’s potential constituents — or, alternatively, a candidate can stand out by making a public display for attention.
If said candidate is trying to win far-right votes, that display might well involve firearms and the hint of a threat towards liberals and Democrats. If the candidate can do so alongside the son of the former president, that might be al the more effective.
With that in mind, it’s unsurprising to see Senate candidate Eric Greitens (R-MO) enjoying target practice alongside Donald Trump Jr. Greitens in particular already has some PR issues, since the release of court documents alleging abuse of his ex-wife.
Still, firing off a rifle and declaring “liberals beware,” is extreme by any standards. Watch below:

Don Jr. chimes in too, declaring that he’s “striking fear into the hearts of liberals.”
Despite the fact that Democrats do tend to push for gun control measures, and the right-wing propaganda that all guns are in the hands of conservatives, the truth, according to Pew Research polling from last year, is that about one in five Democrats owns a firearm. If Trump wants to insinuate that the left is upset at his mere use of a firearm, he’s missed the mark, but throwing in the near-threat definitely raises concerns.
