WATCH: Giuliani Says if Biden Has DOJ Investigate Trump, US Would Become a “Banana Republic”

Donald Trump has weaponized his Department of Justice in a way no other president that preceded him has. His Attorney General William Barr has used his power to punish whistleblower Alexander Vindman. Earlier this year, the department meddled in the case of former Trump adviser Roger Stone.

Rudy Giuliani, Trump’s sometimes lawyer, has also engaged in his own form of corruption, encouraging the Ukraine to open a case against Hunter Biden. According to Giuliani, though, if Biden is to win, he shouldn’t investigate Donald Trump. The former Mayor of New York City said that would make the country a “banana republic.”

Giuliani made the comments while appearing on Mike Huckabee’s Fox News show. The host showed an MSNBC clip were a pundit argued that Biden and Kamala Harris should remove Trump appointees if they were to win.

Huckabee asked, “Rudy Giuliani, former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, former New York City mayor, how unprecedented and damaging would it be for a Biden administration to criminally prosecute a former president?

Giuliani replied, “We would become a banana republic, governor. I mean, Biden has nothing left. She’s a very mean woman, and she was a terrible prosecutor.”
