Earlier this week, the United Nations released an alarming report on the state of climate change and its effects. According to the group, “the modern extinction rate is the highest it’s been in human history.”
Actor George Clooney appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to release a mock PSA on climate change and the White House response. Kimmel is urging people to join the actor in “the fight against stupidity.”
Kimmel began to segment by saying that the people in the Trump administration seem to revel in dismissing climate science. He referenced Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s recent comments that the melting of ice caps could create trade opportunities.
Clooney appeared on the screen and began, “The volumes of invaluable knowledge gathered over centuries are now threatened by an epidemic of dumbf–king idiots saying dumbf–king things.”
He then took a shot at Donald Trump’s recent claim that the noise from windmills could cause cancer. After playing a clip of the statement, the actor said, “Dumbs–t is highly contagious infecting the mind of even the most stable geniuses.”
Clooney then told viewers about his new charity, “United to Defeat Untruthful Misinformation and Support Science (UDUMASS).” He claimed, “Just $20 will convince one f–king idiot that climate change is real. $50 will teach five brainless dumbf–ks to vaccinate their kids and $200 will teach dips–t knuckledraggers that dinosaurs existed, but not at the same time as people.”
While the charity may not be real, Clooney’s message is very serious. He ended the segment by claiming, “Together we can win the fight against dumf–kiness,”
