WATCH: Fox’s Watters Complains Media is Using Black on Black Crime to ‘Pad’ Gun Violence Numbers

The shooting in Sandy Hook should have been the impetus for something to be done about gun control. But it wasn’t, as Republicans blocked any kind of legislation.

Another mass shooting, this time in Uvalde, Texas, should also be enough for something to be done. It looks again, though, like the GOP is content with the slaughter of children being the cost for little gun restriction.

On the GOP’s side is the Fox News network. During a Monday segment, Jesse Watters complained that the media is using Black on Black crime to pad gun control numbers.

The Fox host told viewers, “the use of the phrase ‘mass shooting’ is interesting. Typically, a mass shooting is defined as an incident in which four or more people are killed. By that definition there weren’t any mass shootings this weekend.”

Watters continued:

“So why is the media lying to you? Why are they reporting that there were 10 mass shootings when there weren’t, by their own definition?

This is why. The media is crafty. They want to link the Uvalde and Buffalo mass shootings to inner-city gang shootouts with handguns. That way they can justify taking your rifle away. They’re padding the numbers with Black-on-Black crime, something they never report on, in order to strip law-abiding citizens of their constitutional rights.”
