WATCH: Fox’s Wallace Slams Lewandowski for Blaming Fauci for Trump’s COVID Response

Now that Donald Trump is out of office, the people who formerly worked for him are focused on gaslighting the public on what occurred during his term. To hear them talk, one would think that Trump was a popular leader who had a successful presidency.

One good example of this is how Trump flack’s attempt to absolve him of any criticism for his COVID-19 response. That is what Corey Lewandowsi attempted to do during a Sunday appearance on Fox News. The former Trump adviser, though, caught heavy push-back from Chris Wallace.

The host asked about Trump’s comments about China in March of last year. He asked his guest, “Again, if he was so concerned about the Wuhan lab, if he wanted he had the opportunity as president, why didn’t he get tough with China then when he had the opportunity?”

Lewandowski responded, “We were listening to what the media has defined as the experts and Dr. [Anthony] Fauci specifically.”

Wallace shot back, “Come on, Corey!” Wallace interrupted. “Corey! Corey! Corey! Wait a minute! You’re telling me that the president — you’re going to blame the president’s inaction on Dr. Fauci?”

The former Trump adviser then argued that Trump was tough on China. Wallace closed, “We could go on on this and the fact that the president refused to wear a mask in public for over three months after the CDC recommended it. But let me move on to another subject.”
