Last summer, Kyle Rittenhouse killed two people during a civil rights protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. He nearly immediately became a celebrity in the right wing world. Ann Coulter claimed that she would vote for him for president.

And the hero worship for the teen has continued during his trial. During a Tuesday segment, one Fox News guest went as far as saying Rittenhouse is “a little bit of an icon.”
Host Dana Perino asked lawyer Jonna Spilbor, “Jonna what is it like today for Kyle Rittenhouse as he sits and waits?” The guest responded:
“You know he’s an 18-year-old kid, this happened when he was 17. He has been, you know, he is one juror away from spending life in prison potentially. And it’s got to be incredibly nerve-wracking. It’s also, in a sense he’s a little bit of an icon for those of us who believe that he did mount a very good self-defense defense. I was listening to Tucker last night Dana Loesch said self-defense is on trial here. I wholeheartedly agree with that.”
