WATCH: Fox News Actually Calls Out the Hypocrisy of Kevin McCarthy Defending Matt Gaetz
Last night, news broke that the Department of Justice was investigating Matt Gaetz on charges of sex trafficking. It was an embarrassing moment for a party obsessed with accusing others of sex crimes and pedophilia.
Perino started by asking, “There’s also breaking news on yesterday, Leader McCarthy, on Congressman Matt Gaetz of Florida. And you’ve been very vocal on that Congressman Eric Swalwell should be stripped of his position on the Intel Committee because of his relationship with a Chinese spy. By that same logic, will you take any action to remove Matt Gaetz from the Judiciary Committee while he is under investigation by the DOJ over whether he had a sexual relationship with a 17 year-old and paid for her to travel with him? Which he denies. That would be a violation of sexual trafficking laws.”
Not surprisingly, McCarthy defended the Republican. He told Perino, “Look I haven’t heard from DOJ, I haven’t been able to talk with Matt Gaetz. I just read the story. Those are serious, um, implications. If it comes out to be true, yes we would remove him if that was the case. But right now, Matt Gaetz says its not true.”
