WATCH: Fox Hosts Think That Americans Who Don’t Have Children Shouldn’t Be Able to Vote

In 2020, Joe Biden became the first presidential candidate to receive more than 80 million votes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many states made it easier to vote. And Americans responded, taking advantage of things like expanded vote by mail and 24 hour voting.

Republicans tend to struggle when more Americans vote. So in response to Biden’s 2020 win, many red states are passing bills to restrict voting. And during a Sunday morning segment, the hosts of Fox & Friends pushed a new idea to further suppress the vote.

The segment began with the hosts discussing Ohio senate candidate JD Vance’s idea to restrict voting to people who have children. Will Cain stated, “I think it’s an interesting idea. I’m into interesting ideas. Let’s think about it. Let’s talk about it. He’s saying childless leaders are making decisions that are short-term in mind, not focused on the long-term future health of this country because they don’t have a stake in the game. Parents have a stake in the game, they have children so give parents a bigger say.”

Rachel Campos-Duffy then weighed in, “But I will say that I agree with the premise of it, that it is absolutely true that people like [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez], Pete Buttigieg — you can name the left-wing politicians, people who think that we should legalize marijuana because they don’t have kids and they don’t really have a stake in what that looks like.”
