During a spot on Fox News Tuesday afternoon, Fox News host John Roberts asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders why women voters don't like Donald Trump.
Huckabee Sanders, who once worked as Trump's press secretary, is one of the most high-profile female elected officials willing to go on air and support him. Today's topic was his cratering popularity with women voters, which has only gotten worse since his Supreme Court Justices overturned Roe vs. Wade.
Roberts asked his guest, "NBC poll shows a huge gender gap with Kamala Harris 21 points ahead, 58[%] to 37[%]. I mean, he’s [Trump] good at connecting with people, but why is he so challenged with women voters who make up the majority of the electorate? And a lot of people say this election will turn on women."
The Arkansas Governor responded by referring to a campaign stunt where Trump gave a woman $100 in a grocery store, "I think moments like we saw in that grocery store at the Chick-fil-A with the little boy are going to be things that help him close that gap."
Sanders continued:
"But I also think one of the big things that drives me crazy about the left is they try to single women down to one issue when at the end of the day, we care about whether or not we have a strong and good economy, whether or not our neighborhoods and our streets are safe, whether or not there’s chaos around the world."
