When it was first announced that Elon Musk would be buying a share in Twitter and joining the board, many in Conservative media rejoiced. One of Musk’s first acts, they decided, would be to reinstate Donald Trump’s account.Much has happened since then. It was announced that Musk wouldn’t be joining the board after all. The Tesla founder then announced that he would make an offer to buy the site outright. It looks like Twitter has a way to prevent him from doing so. Still, Fox News hasn’t given up on its hopes of Musk taking over Twitter.
“This is not about money for him,” Rachel Campos-Duffy began. “This is literally about saving civilization because right now in America, democracy is not really truly democracy when one side of the table is completely censored everywhere.”
The pundit continued, “And it’s not just on Twitter, if you look at the universities – everywhere you go, the conservative point of view is just not as allowed, and it’s literally censored on Twitter and other platforms.”
Brian Kilmeade jumped in. “Elon Musk is being attacked and all of a sudden, they’re lining up, the SEC is lining up to look at what he’s doing with Tesla and SpaceX. Everybody could get hurt. Can you imagine if you went on a platform and you just saw conservative thought and liberal thought at the same time, no one protecting us from someone’s point of view?”
