WATCH: Former Republican Describes How Ron DeSantis Manipulated “Useful Idiot Trump”

Ron DeSantis could be the next President of the United States, thanks to Donald Trump. That’s the premise of an analysis by a former Republican who has renounced the Party of Trump. He is now affiliated with the Save America Movement, and he’s warning the public about the possibility of a DeSantis presidency.

In the following Meidas Touch short, David Jolly, who was representing Florida in Congress during the rise of both Trump and DeSantis, describes the relationship between the two. He suggests that DeSantis manipulated Trump and played to the voters who idolized the former president, and rode Trump’s coattails to the type of political fame that will support him in a presidential run.
“Without question Ron DeSantis used Trump to get everything Ron DeSantis wanted from him,” Jolly says, going on to describe the Florida governor as using a major tragedy in his state as an “off-ramp” to set himself apart from Trump, and prepare Republicans to support him, rather than Trump, in a 2024 bid for president.
DeSantis has said he doesn’t have any current intentions to run against Trump, and is running for re-election as governor of Florida. However, there are three years yet of unpredictable events — will Trump face criminal charges? can DeSantis or others continue to shift his base? — and he has plenty of time to make a decision and announcement.
Jolly predicts, “If Ron DeSantis is not the next President of the United States, he is the next Republican President of the United States.”
