Mike Pence and Donald Trump never really seemed like friends. But Trump allowed the ambitious Pence the VP slot, and Pence shored up Trump’s Evangelical support.
When the 45th president lost in November, he had no problem throwing his running mate under the bus. And this week, Trump revealed that he had no issue with his followers yelling, “hang Mike Pence.”
Pence has been relatively quiet about the experience. He even defended those same people who wanted to attack him. But his former press secretary, Alyssa Farah, thinks Pence is upset about what happened that day. And she expects Pence to challenge Trump in 2024.
Farah said during a weekend appearance on CNN, “We don’t need 4 more years of Trump… I’m surprised how far he has taken THE BIG LIE… I think Pence is ashamed of the insurrection and will run against him.”
The former press secretary also noted some other people she feels will also challenge Trump. Those names included Mike Pompeo and Florida governor Ron DeSantis.

At the end of the day, Farah says, the most important thing is defeating Trump. She continued, “A coronation of Donald Trump would be the worst thing both for the party, but, more importantly, for the country.”
