WATCH: Former MN Gov. Jesse Ventura is Backing Kamala Harris For President

While interviewing with CNN on Friday night, former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura announced that he is backing Kamala Harris for president.

From his time in the Marines to his time as a wrestler, then an actor, and then the Governor of a major state, Jesse Ventura has always had an independent streak. He was a member of the Reform Party, the Green Party, and an Independent during his time as Governor and has talked about running as a third-party candidate in the past.

As a well-recognized Independent, Ventura was reportedly on Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s short list for running mates. And Ventura was critical of RFK Jr.'s eventual selection, Nicole Shanahan, which he said was more about money than anything else.

During his time on CNN last night, Ventura backed the Vice President and explained:

'I’ve only got a few elections to go, I’m 73 years old now… so the window’s closing. I want to be alive to see the first woman President of the United States of America, and the first woman Commander in Chief, and we’ve got her right now! Yes, I want to see a woman President. It’s time for a woman President. We men have screwed it up enough!"
