I don’t know, maybe it was a mistake to overturn the Constitutional right to an abortion to allow states to make their own decisions, because the confusion since SCOTUS overturned Roe v Wade on June 24th is very real.
In Texas, one judge’s order allowing abortions to resume was blocked by the state’s Supreme Court. Several other states with “trigger laws” in place have also seen rulings overturned or dismissed, leaving clinics scrambling to help their patients find care elsewhere in time. And then there’s Florida, because Florida.
Governor Ron DeSantis is really gunning for the role of Worst Person in America now that Donald Trump is being sidelined by all kinds of legal actions and investigations, so he has to make his state look like a Mountain Dew ad for the MAGA set. Now that he’s alienated Disney, DeathSantis can control family planning in his state any way he wants to. This is how the abortion law hokey-pokey happened in Floriduh:
- DeathSantis signed a new restrictive abortion ban in April
- A Florida court ruled that the anti-abortion ruling violated the state’s Constitution
- On Tuesday, a judge blocked the ban
- But then it was immediately overturned by the state
Do you have whiplash yet? Yeah, it’s pretty nuts, because Florida.
I'm posting this with her mother's permission because I need everyone to see what Ron DeSantis’ Florida really looks like.

Get used to this, because Kentucky and Indiana are also now racing to be the next Florida. You know, after Mississippi and Alabama. And Oklahoma and Missouri. However, the Florida Men aren’t done controlling more things about women. Republican state representative Anthony “The Next Matt Gaetz” Sabatini said in late June that he was pushing for a special session for the legislature to pass a more stringent abortion law.
The day after I'm elected governor, we'll start gathering signatures for a constitutional amendment to eliminate any doubt that abortions will stay legal in Florida.
We did it with medical marijuana and the minimum wage and we'll do it again to protect your reproductive freedom.
