WATCH: Florida Congresswoman Says Ron DeSantis is Responsible for State’s COVID Surge

Thanks to the delta variant of the disease, COVID cases are now on the rise in all 50 states. Some states, however, are handling the surge better than others. And basically all of those states are run by Democratic governors.

Florida, now the center of Conservatism in America, is doing very poorly combatting COVID. In fact, 20% of all new cases of the disease are occurring in the state.

Still, Ron DeSantis doesn’t seem to be taking the surge very seriously. In fact, the governor is fundraising by selling t-shirts bashing immunologist Anthony Fauci. During an interview on CNN this weekend, Debbie Wasserman Schultz laid the blame for the rise in cases right at DeSantis.

The Florida congresswoman told CNN:

“I think we have a governor who has not taken COVID seriously from the beginning. He has campaign merchandise on his website saying ‘Don’t Fauci my Florida.’ And we’ve had nearly 40,000 Floridians die of COVID. We have, we are contributing 20 percent of the COVID diagnosis in the country right now and we’re on the rise. And look, I would rather see us Fauci our Florida than have people go through death by DeSantis. That’s what we’re facing now. He actually had a law pass in Florida to prohibit local governments from being able to enact measures like mask requirements and social distancing to keep people safe. You can’t make this up! That’s where the blame lies. At his feet.”
