WATCH: Eric Trump Reveals How Scared His Family Is As Investigations Proceed

America is watching and waiting to see what’s happening behind the scenes with regard to Donald Trump’s legal woes. While we know that he’s facing, among other things, an investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, the progress on the case is largely behind closed doors, leaving the curious to rely on the opinions of legal experts and the complaints of the Trump family to give hints about just how serious it might be.

We’ve heard from legal experts who say that, while they can’t know the details of the case and couldn’t release them if they did, their experience suggests that there will be criminal charges coming. Now, we can hear Eric Trump panicking about subpoenas, and from that, draw our own conclusions about what the Trumps expect the outcome to be.

Here’s Eric on Fox News, complaining about subpoenas and whining that the president’s son, Hunter Biden, isn’t facing persecution for drug addiction.

He claims that his family is being attacked for such minor transgressions as a misplaced comma, while Biden is allowed to (according to Trump) “sleep with hookers” and “go on week-long benders.”

Comma placement is not a criminal offense, however, and falsifying documents to evade taxes (as the Trump Organization has been alleged to do, with Trump’s former fixer Michael Cohen attesting to the practice) is, so it’s unlikely that any subpoenas Eric might have been served with could have been avoided with a night class on grammar and punctuation.

Here’s Eric only the day before, on Newsmax this time, with essentially the same complaint: that his family is being pursued by investigators on a daily basis. He also recycles his father’s perpetual talking point, claiming this is harassment and politically motivated.

“The good news is, we’re really honest people,” Trump says, adding, “We have nothing to hide.”

It’s not clear why, if the Trump family has nothing to hide, it took a years-long court battle for the Manhattan District Attorney to get copies of financial documents, or why Eric is so upset about a subpoena that he’s griped about it two consecutive days on sympathetic news networks.
