Since he was initially banned, Donald Trump has been desperate to get back onto Twitter. He filed a lawsuit to get back on, but that failed. He started his own Twitter copycat site, Truth Social, but it has been a failure and Trump seems embarrassed to use it.Trump was thrown a lifeline by Elon Musk’s looming purchase of the site. Many believed that the purchase could lead to Trump’s return. Musk confirmed that on Tuesday, saying that he would reinstate the former President.
Musk said during an interview with the Financial Times:
“I guess the answer is that I would reverse the former ban. Obviously, I’m not the owner of Twitter yet, so this is not a thing that would definitely happen. But my opinion, and Jack Dorsey, I want to be clear, shares this opinion, is that we should not have perma-bans.”
