WATCH: Dr. Fauci Says That he Would Prefer to be Working With Biden’s COVID Team

Earlier this week, it was announced that Pfizer had developed a vaccine that’s shown to be effective against the Coronavirus. At the same time, the pandemic is spiking in nearly every segment of the country. It will take months for the vaccine to be distributed to the public and there will be many deaths before then.

Donald Trump, who held a press conference about the vaccine, has essentially given up on fighting the virus until the treatment is ready. Joe Biden, on the other hand, has created a COVID-19 task force to combat the disease. When asked Sunday morning if he would prefer to work with Biden’s team, Dr. Anthony Fauci replied, “of course.”

The renowned immunologist was asked by CNN host Jake Tapper, “how problematic is it for the fight against the coronavirus if the NIH and your agency and other government experts are not able to begin communicating with President-Elect Biden’s team?”

Fauci replied, “you want to essentially keep going, and that is what transition is, so it certainly would make things more smoothly if we could do that.”

Tapper followed, “So just as a public health measure, you think it would be a good idea if your team would be able to work with the Biden/Harris transition team right now, just in terms of what is best for the public health of the American people?”

“Of course, Jake. That’s obvious,” Fauci replied. “Of course it would be better if we could start working with them.”
