WATCH: Donald Trump Proposes Eliminating Windmills To Save Ukraine

Donald Trump thinks he has the solution to the war in Ukraine, and it’s exactly as illogical as you’d expect. The former president spoke at a rally Saturday night, and brought up the Russian invasion of Ukraine — which he has previously praised, while also claiming the unique ability to solve.

Saturday night’s rambling rant provided the ousted Floridian with an opportunity to bring up another of his favorite topics — an absolute opposition to renewable energy, with a special antipathy for windmills. If America wants to end the invasion of Ukraine, he says, getting rid of windmills is part of the solution.

“You wanna stop the war? Drive down the price of oil. Drive down the price of energy. You wanna stop it? Stop with the windmills, that kill all your birds and destroy your environment.”

Trump’s fear of windmills is notorious, and he’s been mocked for it throughout his presidency — particularly for (falsely) claiming that the sound of windmills causes cancer. That 2019 clip is below, via 10 Tampa Bay.

The United States and other nations have made a decision to boycott Russian oil and gas, as Reuters reports, which has contributed to higher prices for gasoline. However, Trump and his ilk have used these gas prices, along with their opposition to renewable energy, to push for the reopening of the Keystone XL pipeline, which was shut down last summer and would not have provided oil to the United States.
