When Donald Trump became the standard bearer of the Republican party in 2016, he did not come alone. His presence in the nation’s highest office enabled a number of unqualified politicians to run for office as well. And now the party is filled with figures like Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lauren Boebert.

Taylor Greene, specifically, makes a regular spectacle of herself. Footage emerged this week of the crazed Georgia Rep. trying to get into Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s office back in 2019. While discussing the video, Don Lemon talked about he dilemma of giving Reps. like Taylor Greene the attention she is starved for.

“This is all about publicity,” the host began. “And by the way, it’s always a struggle. How much should I cover it and talk about it because that’s what she wants? What she’s doing is so egregious and ridiculous and embarrassing and should be called out. That’s the dilemma that we face every night on the show. Should we give her a platform?”

Lemon continued, “She’s (Taylor Greene) like ‘This is really cool, I am going to do it and own the libs and people who support me, they’re going to love it, and Trump is going to love it and I’m going to get on TV and the media…’ It’s all a grift.”
