During a weekend appearance on Fox News, Donald Trump gushed about vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance, ignoring the fact that the Ohio senator has proven to be incredibly unpopular.
There were several contenders for Donald Trump's running mate, and in the end, he listened to his son and Elon Musk and chose J.D. Vance. Vance has proven to be a disaster of a pick among the least popular running mates in electoral history.
Trump is a candidate who has issues with women and many of Vance's comments about women's rights have come back to hurt the campaign. He even gave Democrats a rallying cry with his childless cat women comments.
During an appearance on Fox News, Maria Bartiromo asked Trump Jr., "Don, it has been said that you were among those encouraging your father to choose J.D. Vance as his running mate. He did. Now he goes head-to-head [in a debate] against Tim Walz on Tuesday night."
Trump Jr. answered:
"Listen, J.D. has been incredible. Every time I watch him, whether it's the Sunday morning shows, just dismantling the left on their home turf, I just feel totally vindicated in all of that decision. He's been absolutely outstanding. J.D. is a guy of substance."
The former President's son continued:
"He's a guy that's lived that American dream, coming out of Appalachia to become now the vice-presidential candidate for the Republican Party in the United States."
