WATCH: Democrats Focus On Congressional Races In Final Weeks Before Election

One month before Election Day, the Democratic National Committee is still laser-focused on electing Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, but can now also put plenty of energy behind down-ballot candidates thanks to an influx of funds distributed to Congressional races in all 50 states.

The Harris/Walz campaign has been deluged with donations since the Vice President became the Democratic presidential nominee, amassing over a half-billion dollars-- a record amount in a record amount of time. Conversely, the Trump/Vance campaign has just over $200 million in its coffers after over two years of Trump's attempt to use the presidential election to avoid prison.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Jaime Harrison and Michigan Sen. Gary Peters, the chair of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, held a remote news conference Friday, one month from Election Day, to talk about the push to increase the Senate majority and take back the majority in the House.

Republicans currently have a 220-212 majority. There are three vacancies, with two of those previously held by Democrats and one by a Republican.

Democrats are expressing increasing optimism that regaining control of the House is within the party’s grasp, said Rep. Suzan DelBene (D-WA), chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DNCC).  “We have opportunities everywhere,” Rep. DelBene said on the remote call with Chairman Harrison and Sen. Peters.

One such opportunity is in Texas, where Democratic Rep. Colin Allred is within the margin of error to win the seat held by Republican Ted Cruz, a longtime Trump sycophant who notoriously abandoned his state during a winter ice storm.
